Our client in Pekin, IL is looking for 2nd shift Packaging/conditioning candidates

What’s in it for you?

8-hour shifts with possible overtime
$17.00 Per Hour
Monday to Friday (Some Saturdays)
3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Weekly Pay

What will you be doing?

Forklift experience preferred but not required

Must be willing to learn, operate, drive, and certify in forklift operations

Must be capable of becoming forklift certified following company guidelines within 10 days of hiring

Must have 3 months steady work history

Involved in all aspects of packaging

Loading and unloading boxes and tote bags with bulk materials

Performing QA checks, operating and adjusting packaging equipment

General housekeeping of sweeping, cleaning, shoveling

Verify calibration of scales and printing equipment

Manually turn valves to direct flow

Enter information into computer

Use of automation and PLC controls to operate some equipment

Actively participate in problem solving with other team members

Utilize and follow SOP’s/work instructions with correct documentation to ensure compliance with company Management System

Understand packaging equipment to effectively operate, clean equipment, and ensure product integrity

Accurately document completed production and inventory transfers into warehouse

Requirements:

Understand and follow all safety requirements

Basic understanding and ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word, including but not limited to data entry, copy, paste, save, etc.

Perform required tasks, including clearing snow, outdoors during fall, winter, spring for extended periods of time

Must be capable of becoming forklift certified following Syngenta guidelines within 10 days of hiring

Must be able to work well with others as part of a team

Able to read and understand measurements

Understanding of continuous flow of material via belt conveyors, elevators, gravity, etc.

Pay close attention to detail in order to quickly identify anything outside of normal operations and bring to the attention of supervisor immediately

Lift and install lids onto boxes that are 5’6” tall and be able to secure with fasteners on top

Willing to learn new skills

Ag related bulk material handling experience preferred

Good verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred

Experience working with identity preserved products preferred

Forklift and/or tractor certification preferred

Safety Training:

All associates are required to attend Lean 101 Safety Training!

Physical Demands:

Use a variety of tools as needed

Be able to stand on concrete and bend multiple times a day

Maintain a clean work area

Be safety oriented

Be able to work in a cold environment

Be flexible with work assignments

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., anything over 50 lbs. will be a team lift
