Information about the position:

• Position: Trailer Mechanic

• Location: Danville, IL

• # of Openings: 1

• Position Type: Temp to hire

• Pay: $17/hr

• Days: Monday-Friday

• Shift: First: 6AM-4PM (10 Hour shifts)

• Experience: Mechanic: 2 years (Required)

Qualifications for position:

• CDL Preferred/Valid Driver’s License

• In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, such as hydraulics, air breaks, and electrical systems.

• Exceptional understanding of mechanical and technical information.

• Welding & cutting experience.

• Manual dexterity, experience with hand tools, and physical strength.

• Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Job Duties:

• Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, andcomponents.

• Performing preventative maintenance measures on semi-trucks and trailers.

• Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required.

• Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

• Ensuring that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation’s road safety requirements.

• Understanding of DOT info on trailers and AVI

• Follow all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company and any other
